Article: Growing Your Own Because I planted the seeds and have observed them from the very beginning I have gotten quite attached to them. Seeing those plants every day, weeding them, watering them, I have formed a connection with them that I didnt know I could have with a plant. I care about my plants and what happens to them and therefore I want to care for them the best I can. I want them to thrive and later to enjoy their fruits. I think people are sometimes reluctant to start a garden because they dont have experience or time. But, if you start small you can learn and it doesnt have to take a lot of time. I believe that once you have started growing something it will be hard to neglect it. It is a truly rewarding experience to see your plants grow and to eat food you have helped produce. Growing your own food is an unnecessary skill for many today, but I think it is a skill from which people everywhere can benefit. Growing your own food gives you a greater appreciation not only for that food, but for food in general and for the commitment of those who produce the food we eat every day. I think it would be a wonderful thing if everyone could grow their own food, either at their homes or in their community. I know this is a far off call, but a dream of mine never the less. I have learned, and continue to learn so much being here, and it is an experience I wish everyone could have. Having my own bed here, or having a garden anywhere will not teach you what it is to have a farm, but it will give you a taste of all that goes into it. So, I encourage everyone, if you have the chance, to grow something at some point. Start small and grow something you like. Learn from the plants, they are great teachers.
